Rainy days in Texas
We've finally had some rainy days in San Antonio.
Our water rationing is pushed off for awhile. Hooray!
But even though it's overcast outside, it's sunny inside when I see my grandkids.
Enjoy!

Guest house inside shots
Some interior shots of the guest house I showed you this past Thursday.
The top left photo is one of the bathrooms, the top right photo shows the wood ceiling and in the bottom photo you can see the kitchen.
Remember to click on photos to see larger.
And you thought I sat around all day at home watching tv and eating bon-bons!
What .... no milkshake?

Post-it Elvis
Wow - way too much time on their hands.
This company let their employees use their post-its and make an Elvis.
More photos here.
How they did it here.

Cult Poodles
I love kids' questions - Why is the sky blue? What holds up the sun?
Well, Kaireia is asking me hard questions as well.
She was playing with her poodle the other day and asked me this question ...
"Grandpa, do you think that other dogs look at poodles and wonder if they are part of some cult?"
Hmm ... an extremely thoughtful question.

Grandchildren are great
Well, Cindy's home and here is what she is missing!
I like this quote - "If I had known how wonderful it would be to have grandchildren, I'd have had them first." ~Lois Wyse (author)

My Grandpa Adams
It's always intersting to find out new things about your grandparents. My Grandpa Adams died when I was 5 years old and I barely remember anything about him. Anyway, my folks were clearing out some stuff and I inherited some old papers in which this card was found.
Whew - at least he was a Republican. I was two years old in 1956 and, as he was born in June of 1896, he was just shy of 60 years old. I always pictured him as a farmer. It's fascinating to see the other faces of your ancestors.
I said I never knew him, but as you get older you find out you become more like your folks (scary, huh?). Anyway, I know my own father, so I may know more of him than I ever thought.

Henry Morris (1918-2006)
Henry Morris died Saturday. Cindy and I had the privilege of seeing him in person in Corpus Christi several years ago with our home school group.
He founded the Institute for Creation Research in 1970. He showed it is possible to believe in creation based on scholarly research and that evolution requires more faith than creation.
His book "The Genesis Flood" is a real masterpiece.
He was also a Texan, born in Dallas and a graduate of Rice University.
A true Texas gentleman. Rest in peace.

Ashli
On the way home, Rachel and Darin stopped in the Waco area to visit with Ashli. This is Ashli with her son on her left and she's holding Neidon.
Ashli was Rachel's best friend growing up. They lived next door to each other and the girls spent hours playing though the chain link fence with each other.
As both Ashli's parents and we home-schooled, the girls had lots in common.
Ashli looks great and Rachel had a wonderful visit.

Knock Knock
Knock-knock - who's there?
This joke will finally come into play for real.
An Israeli company has developed a lock that will open your front door based on a series of knocks in a pattern you predetermine.
Check it out. Click here.
(PS Just read the article, the actual company's web site is in Hebrew.)
