It's Monday!

It's Monday - Hooray!!

Okay, it's not that exciting. But we do have a new week to enjoy.

We had 1 1/2" of rain last night - our first real rain in months. Our grass looks wonderful already.

Have a great week.

Guest house inside shots

Some interior shots of the guest house I showed you this past Thursday.

The top left photo is one of the bathrooms, the top right photo shows the wood ceiling and in the bottom photo you can see the kitchen.

Remember to click on photos to see larger.

And you thought I sat around all day at home watching tv and eating bon-bons!

What .... no milkshake?

Okay, everyone didn't get a milkshake after the circus!

But everybody did have a great time.

But next year .....

Shriner Circus

Yummy

The kids went to a Shriner circus and stopped afterwards for a little refreshment.

Kaireia seems to be concentrating pretty hard on her shake.

I'm sure she'd share with us if we were there!

Multi-screen

I'm thinking about a multi-screen set up.

Do you think this is overkill?

Check it out here.

Friday night

Hooray - it's Friday!

Time to hang out with close friends and family and just relax.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Don't worry, Be happy

I hope your week is going well.

Neidon says to slow down.

Think happy thoughts.

Relax.

Guest House

Here is a photo of a guest house I designed last year for a client. I did the main house a few years ago. Interesting how things go in cycles - I have two more guest homes on the "boards" right now.

Thought you would enjoy looking at it until I get more grandkids photos up.

Post-it Elvis

Wow - way too much time on their hands.

This company let their employees use their post-its and make an Elvis.

More photos here.

How they did it here.

Yummy carrots

Carrots - yummy!

Neidon has been eating cereal for awhile and now has started eating carrots.

It appears he is wearing more than he's eaten.

Cult Poodles

I love kids' questions - Why is the sky blue? What holds up the sun?

Well, Kaireia is asking me hard questions as well.

She was playing with her poodle the other day and asked me this question ...

"Grandpa, do you think that other dogs look at poodles and wonder if they are part of some cult?"

Hmm ... an extremely thoughtful question.

Grandchildren are great

Well, Cindy's home and here is what she is missing!

My Grandpa Adams

It's always intersting to find out new things about your grandparents. My Grandpa Adams died when I was 5 years old and I barely remember anything about him. Anyway, my folks were clearing out some stuff and I inherited some old papers in which this card was found.

Whew - at least he was a Republican. I was two years old in 1956 and, as he was born in June of 1896, he was just shy of 60 years old. I always pictured him as a farmer. It's fascinating to see the other faces of your ancestors.

I said I never knew him, but as you get older you find out you become more like your folks (scary, huh?). Anyway, I know my own father, so I may know more of him than I ever thought.

Blue hat

It looks like a gang member to me. You can tell by the way he wears his hat.

He just turned 6 months old this week.

I should have 6 month photos soon.

Carrots

Grandma Adams is feeding Neidon carrots. You can tell he really "loves" them.

He looks like he's ready to run away from there!

Henry Morris (1918-2006)

Henry Morris died Saturday. Cindy and I had the privilege of seeing him in person in Corpus Christi several years ago with our home school group.

He founded the Institute for Creation Research in 1970. He showed it is possible to believe in creation based on scholarly research and that evolution requires more faith than creation.

His book "The Genesis Flood" is a real masterpiece.

He was also a Texan, born in Dallas and a graduate of Rice University.

A true Texas gentleman. Rest in peace.

Pizza time

Kaireia is just like her daddy - a pizza lover.

No, pizza is not one of the basic food groups!

Cindy is in Missouri this week with the kids and left me in charge - scary, huh?

Hmm, how about ordering a pizza ...

Bath night

It's Saturday night - bath night down here in Texas.

Time to get ready for church after a long hard work week.

Hope you all had a great week.

See you at CHURCH!

1988

We found this photo from 1988. Reed is on the left, Ashli is on the bench on the left (bow in hair) with Rachel on the bench to her right in the blue. Thought you'd enjoy the comparison with Ashli's recent photo. (Remember - click photo to see larger)

Ashli

On the way home, Rachel and Darin stopped in the Waco area to visit with Ashli. This is Ashli with her son on her left and she's holding Neidon.

Ashli was Rachel's best friend growing up. They lived next door to each other and the girls spent hours playing though the chain link fence with each other.

As both Ashli's parents and we home-schooled, the girls had lots in common.

Ashli looks great and Rachel had a wonderful visit.

Knock Knock

Knock-knock - who's there?

This joke will finally come into play for real.

An Israeli company has developed a lock that will open your front door based on a series of knocks in a pattern you predetermine.

Check it out. Click here.

(PS Just read the article, the actual company's web site is in Hebrew.)

looking back

Just posting an older photo today for your enjoyment.

This is Cindy and Kairiea from August of 2004.

They were up in Indiana at Cindy's folks.

Great grandpa

Here's my dad and my grandson.

Neidon has not met his other great grandpa yet.

Which of these two guys appears more content?

Curly hair

This is a great shot!

Rachel had put Kaireia's hair into curls and you can see her admiring herself in the mirror.

I'm admiring her too!

Cold rodeo

It was so cold at the rodeo, but Neidon had to watch - he couldn't stay covered up under the blanket for long.

This is him watching Kaireia ride the pony.

Old Dolly

A rainy day in San Antonio! Hooray!!

Here's another rodeo shot to brighten up your day.

Kaireia is riding "Dolly" and her daddy, Darin is walking alongside.

She was all smiles on this pony.

Pig petting

Here's another Rodeo photo from last week. Reed and Kaireia petting a pig.

That Uncle Reed knows how to show Kaireia a good time!

Underfoot

Here's Neidon and Kaireia playing on our kitchen floor.

Neidon is trying to crawl and Kaireia wants to help.

Merry-Go-Round

The Merry-go-round was fun.

Reed, Rachel and Kaireia enjoyed the ride.

Reed couldn't find a horse big enough to ride on.

Llama

Here's Reed and Kaireia petting a Llama in the petting zoo area at the rodeo.

They (the llamas) look huge when you are up next to them.

I think they were enjoying this(?)

Cowgirl

We had a great day at the rodeo but very COLD!

Kaireia loved the pony ride. She's a real cow girl.

Wait until you see her new pink cowboy boots.

Cindy and Neidon Feb 2006

Well, Grandma is in hog heaven.

It don't get no better than this.

More photos soon.

Black sheep

Every family has a dark side - a black sheep of the family.

I must come clean - I have someone too.

She is from the northern part of the country (i.e. Yankee) - the up country part of my family.

Here is a photo of her in her Sumo wrestler phase.

Not a pretty sight!

Notice I didn't even mention Laura's name!

Long ride

I hope Neidon is still this happy after 10 hours in a car seat.

It looks like he needs his gramps to hold him!

(He has his grandma Adams' chin and jowls.)

Red hat

Hi gang!

Another week has begun.

We're excited as our kids and grandkids will all be here this week.

It's a red hat week.
Let's rodeo!

Early reader

Neidon is getting some serious reading done.

He knows he'll be here in a few days and we like to discuss the literature we're reading with each other.

He's a real avid reader.

Momma's little helper

Here's our little girl helping her mommy vacuum the floor.

Of course, mommy carries her baby while she works, so we have to do the same.

Our babies will be here in San Antonio in a few days and we can't wait to carrying them around!

They match

Kaireia is becoming more the young lady every day. She loves having her mommy fix her hair up.

And she likes her clothing and accessories to MATCH!

5 months photos

Here are our babys' 5 month old photos.
Neidon is the top photo and Kaireia the bottom photo.
As he grows the differences get more evident.

Caught you!

Why do kids always look like you caught them red handed, even if they are innocent?

Do you notice that Kaireia is holding Neidon's hand?

My beautiful blue eyed kids!

Little bride

Here is our future 'bride'. Rachel says Kaireia likes to dress up as a bride with a blanket as her dress and a wash cloth as her veil.

It looks like she is wearing a red night gown under all this.

Sunday, February 05, 2006

Beauty queen

Kaireia is our little beauty. You can see that she isn't camera shy. We can hardly wait to see her and we will in just a few weeks.

They'll be here for the San Antonio livestock show and Rodeo.

But until then, we'll just have to enjoy her pictures.

First bites

Neidon doesn't seem too thrilled with his first bites of "real" food. If you can call baby cereal real food.

He hasn't figured out you have to swallow it!

Fishing buddies

Good morning to all! Just a story to pass along today.

I have a client who is an avid fisherman. She said she fishes on the Pedernales River and occasionally with a young man with whom she enjoys discussing God with as well. She finally asked him what he did for a living, as he was off a lot in the daytime. He said he wrote songs. So she said - a song writer? What songs have you written? Well, he replied, one of mine in "How Great is Our God".

Imagine, meeting Chris Tomlin at a fishing hole?
