A lady in our Sunday school gave a great illustration of adoption today. When her grandfather was a child, his folks died and the other siblings all got taken in except for him. He had a burned and disfigured hand - he was not going to be a good worker so no none wanted him. He was left on his folks gravestone to die but someone passing the cemetery heard his cry and took him in and raised him. Years later the grand-daughter, in our SS class, found the census records and the other siblings had 'servant' beside their names, but besides her grandpa's name it said 'adopted'.
That is what God has done for us - we've been adopted into his family - what a blessing we've been given - so pass on the good news this week to people that need a father too.
