Ready for spring ...

Good afternoon - I've not posted for awhile. There isn't much new that the kids haven't posted already on Facebook so I've gotten lazy with updating this site.
We had a great snow a couple of weeks ago and the following week it was in the 60's - it's back to 44 degrees today and we've chance of snow again this following week - but not much currently predicted.
Work and election commission keeps me busy - primary elections in a few weeks and there is a lot of things to do to prepare for that - more than I ever would have guessed.
Cindy stays busy with the county commissioner  position - sure helps keep her out of my hair!
The grand-babies growing up and we feel so far away at times. I guess a season for everything - or so they say.

70 degrees!

 Greetings - loving this global warming - worked at our church's live nativity last night and could have worn shorts - we typically wear long johns!

Went to the local Christmas parade last week - lots of great floats - never saw mules in a parade before! About a dozen wagons with mules.

Our deck is getting close to being done - just waiting on the side panels to be completed - we moved the stairs to opposite side - they work much nicer.

A beautiful DRY day

Good afternoon - what a wet week we've had - many inches of rain, cold weather and just nasty out. Yesterday's high in the mid 50's set a low 'high' record for here.
Today is back to normal - sunshine and dry - woohoo!
No big news here -a great week behind us and a great week ahead.
Landed a big job with Hubbard in Pikeville last week- a large chicken hatchery and breeder - God is so good!

Great fall weather

Well the grass is slowing down to one mowing a week or more, the last mowing of the year is in the local fields and they're making the round bales up, pumpkins are for sale everywhere, fall is in the air.
A long but good week - bidding lots of stuff and several new projects coming on line. God is good!

We mowed last night - but no one to help me drive the mower. Cindy and I are ready for cooler weather to slow this old grass down from growing so much.

Home alone

Well, back to normal - a least for a day or so. Neidon is home and Cindy is home and I is home too!
Well, looks like Rachel and Darin are having a boy!! Neidon won't be alone! Grandkids are great.

Yard mowed last night, breakfast out in a bit and a few errands today - enjoy!

Sunshine is great

A beautiful day here in the upper Cumberlands - around 83 degrees and sunshine.
We're still enjoying having Neidon with us - he returns home this week and back to normal again.
Work is staying busy for Cindy and me - we're ready for fall and for things to slow down a bit - slow is good.

Another visitor

Greetings - we've got Neidon visiting for a week or so. He got here in time to go to the county fair with us last night.
This morning we did a fund-raiser walk for MADD of Tennessee, got home mowed and finally crashing- woohoo!
God is good!

Good afternoon! A beautiful day here in central Tennessee. We've been to church, out to eat, a bit of shopping and now home.

A busy but good week ahead - hold on here we go!

Dog days

Well, 90 degree weather with high humidity does not make it very pleasant for outside activities.

Still traveling to Nashville and locally at least once a week - bidding on lots of stuff, just need something to break - that's construction!

Cindy has her county budget done - just need it voted through now - hope all goes well.

Warm weather - woohoo!

A beautiful day here - sunshine and warm weather - a great combination.
 We had a guest speaker at church today and I went out after church to lunch with him and his wife and my minister and his family. A great visit and a fun time!
Cindy is still spoiling family in Ohio and she returns Tuesday - hope my mess isn't too bad!
Well, sorry my Spurs are out of the play-offs, but it was fun while it lasted. Now what do we watch?

Catch up Saturday

 Greetings - well, the end of another great week. We had to drive to Knoxville yesterday for a graduation at Johnson Bible College of our minister's daughter - and our 2 hour drive turned into about a 4 hour drive with traffic, wrecks and road construction. We were 10 minutes late to a graduation that we thought we'd be there hours early.
Slept late, breakfast at home by my star cook and now catching up on some paperwork. A great day ahead.

Sleepless in Tennessee

Greetings - it's been an extremely busy year for us so far this year. I think we've another couple of months and maybe we can get back to some form of normalcy.

Cindy is on the budget committee for the County Commissioners which will add a meeting or two a week for the next month or more to her already crazy schedule. I'm now the secretary of the local Republican party - for this county and I also got placed on the county's election Commission - and was made chairman in the past week as well.

Fortunately, we're about to wrap up our weekly classes with the Sheriff's department in two more weeks so we'll get back one night a week plus I'm done teaching on Wednesday nights at church until at least this fall.

Well, Galen and Charlotte are gone - they've officially moved to Florida this week - we were blessed to have them spend a couple of nights with us before they left (unfortunately we had meetings both nights) but we did get to visit some with them before they took off.

 We've been so busy at nights, I ran home on Wednesday so we could mow our yard at lunch - now that's some fun!

Well, better go - sure miss you all and pray your week is going fantastic!

The truck is gone, long live the truck ...

Good morning - well, we sold the truck this week and bought a new car. We had about 225,000 miles on the truck so never say a Nissan can't hold up. You know I'm partial to Fords and this car caught my eye - white is a great color too! Wonder if this will go 16 years!
Same old stuff going on here - meetings almost every night and lots of activity. I'm now the secretary of our county's Republican party and I recently got appointed to the election Commission board for our county as well - let's see if I can catch up to Cindy getting my photo in the paper! Probably not. Love you all - have a blessed day.

Worn out ...

Well, we had Rachel and her kids for the last week plus a lot of other stuff - great times and we're flat worn out! A few errands this morning and then we need to mow once the grass dries out - some rain yesterday and more projected today so we'll catch it hopefully between showers.

 Good afternoon - a long day yesterday working for the Republican party - today a funeral over in Spring City and we're off and running - a brand new week before us!

Rachel and the crew coming over this Friday for a few days - time to spoil some babies!
