I love summer

Greetings - I feel like I'm behind in everything - is that just life? It'd be nice to feel caught up at least once in awhile.

A wedding this afternoon and up to Indiana for the weekend to see Cindy's day. Long weekends are nice.

We're still way behind on rain - one major rain in the past few weeks - we've got a yard this is looking mighty dry.

Well, gotta go - out to breakfast - have a great weekend.

Sleepless in Tennessee

Greetings - it's been an extremely busy year for us so far this year. I think we've another couple of months and maybe we can get back to some form of normalcy.

Cindy is on the budget committee for the County Commissioners which will add a meeting or two a week for the next month or more to her already crazy schedule. I'm now the secretary of the local Republican party - for this county and I also got placed on the county's election Commission - and was made chairman in the past week as well.

Fortunately, we're about to wrap up our weekly classes with the Sheriff's department in two more weeks so we'll get back one night a week plus I'm done teaching on Wednesday nights at church until at least this fall.

Well, Galen and Charlotte are gone - they've officially moved to Florida this week - we were blessed to have them spend a couple of nights with us before they left (unfortunately we had meetings both nights) but we did get to visit some with them before they took off.

 We've been so busy at nights, I ran home on Wednesday so we could mow our yard at lunch - now that's some fun!

Well, better go - sure miss you all and pray your week is going fantastic!

Whew ...

 Good morning - another crazy week - we've another 6 to 8 weeks of this before it backs off. I had three pre-8am meetings this week out of town, 3 evenings meetings, an all day session today and next Saturday, and next week is like this week - evening and morning meetings as well as a work day - hold on, this phase will pass!!

A cold rainy day here - about 50 which seems like a heat wave, but the rain feels might cold.

A few warmer days ahead and then more snow projected by week's end.

Back to normal ....

Well, a quiet Saturday at home - that hasn't happened in weeks and weeks. Off to breakfast in a bit, a few errands and then home to review tomorrow's lesson for church and CRASH!

We've got sunshine

Good morning - what a dreary winter we've had so far - sunshine today and it looks great! We're even supposed to get in the 40's - a real heat wave!

A good but busy week - another week where I was out of town almost every day - now for the paperwork!

Meanwhile, somewhere in Europe ...

Saturday - breakfast out in a few minutes, a few errands and home again.

We're back

Good morning - we got home Saturday evening and had a great Thanksgiving with Rachel and her family. Good to go and good to be home again.
It's December already -  this year has flown with lots of changes - I think that's good - love you all!

Close to record rain

Good morning - well, about 8" of rain month to date and about 11" is the record - we're way over the average for a normally fairly dry month.
Lots of trees are turning colors and nights are cooler and cooler - a great time of year - except winter is ahead - ugg!
Well, it's Wednesday and the week is about half done - hang on, we can make it!

Good morning - wow, July already- the year is half over!
We finally got to our hayfield of a lawn last night - it was super tall but we made it - better not wait a week next time.
Another paperwork day - actually need to get two bids out the door today - we''ll see!
Putnam County Republican party has their monthly meeting tonight - that is always interesting - another great day ahead!

Together again

Cindy is on the road right now - returning a boy - we had a fun two weeks - and I know she is totally exhausted.

Sunshine on a Saturday

Good afternoon - we've run a few errands and have a great day so far. Lunch in a bit and maybe check out a local park and just enjoy a beautiful day. No more snow!!

It's allergy time again ...

Greetings - we've had lots of rain and it's a bit warmer so the plants and trees think spring is a coming. Of course, my allergies think the same thing - I welcomed Cindy back with a night of coughing and allergy symptoms - she just thought she was going to get rest after being with the kids.


I'm off to Crossville this morning and a couple of other meetings today - we're off and running!

Funeral and graveside

 Saturday were the funeral and graveside in the mausoleum - always a joy to see family even in the midst of sorrow.

Gotta go - elder's meeting this afternoon - love you all.

Everyone is home again

Greetings - did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving? My folks are still in Florida, but Reed's family made it back home from Oregon and Rachel's family made it back home from here. Even Cindy's brother and sister-in-law made it back from St. Louis.
We enjoyed kith and kin - those kids are growing like weeds and we enjoyed them. Yesterday we put up stuff and cleaned and crashed - family takes a lot out of these old geezers! Have a great Sunday!!

Rachel loaned me her scanner and it can scan negatives (not slides - too bad) - anyway, I scanned a few strips yesterday of negatives - hope you enjoy these oldies but goodies!

I'm back!

I tried to get on yesterday but our cable and internet were down. Evidently about 1/3 of Cookeville was without power yesterday morning from 5 am to 9 pm - did you know how hard it can be to get to work if the traffic lights are out?
The little boy Caleb I've asked you to pray for has gotten a new heart this week! Click here Thank you Lord!
We're still having cool evenings and nice days - leaves are turning - fall has arrived!
