Off to Indiana

Howdy - off to work for a few hours and then we head out to Indiana around noon. Pray that our weather holds out - please, no snow.

I will be posting haphazardly the next few weeks - so have a MERRY Christmas and enjoy your family this holiday season.

Last full dat this year

Greetings - we had a pleasant dinner with Cindy's brother and wife last night reminiscing about Cindy's mom and just good ole' visiting. Thank you God for memories of past events and loved ones.

The funeral for Irene is Saturday and viewing on Friday. We leave tomorrow afternoon to head up there and after the funeral on Saturday we head toward Texas. Unless God changes our plans again.

You probably have heard, but Cindy's mom, Irene Miller, passed away yesterday morning. Quite frankly, we're still in shock as she seemed healthy except for the Alzheimer's that was bad, but not as severe as we had expected.
No funeral news yet - we're assuming Thursday, but if you are interested give us a call as we should know later today what's happening.

Vacation day!

Good afternoon - we had a great vacation day!

Shopping and errands over in Mt. Juliet and just got home again. Heading off to church in a little bit for our live nativity - what a fun time of year!

One more full week and work and then - Christmas Vacation!! Next week should prove interesting - the guy I work with just gave notice and I'm wondering how much of his stuff I'll inherit - life is good!

Mostly paperwork today - got a new contract yesterday and need to get that project going today. I hate holiday projects - my vacation won't truly be a vacation - get ready for the calls and emails! Oh well, work is still work!

Greetings - a rainy cold night last night - we got missed by the snow and sleet but still yucky looking out there.

Well, Cindy pushed me to the Dr's office yesterday - have bronchitis and sinusitis - bring on the meds! Gotta get well for Christmas vacation!

More paperwork at work today and getting ready for a bid due tomorrow - we're off!

Greetings - I got home late yesterday from Nashville - rainy over, rain there and rain back - dreary weather.

Good morning - a good but long day yesterday - Somerset is about 2 hours away but a nice drive - a great client there too!

We had the kids build and decorate gingerbread houses again when they came - it's becoming a holiday tradition - and a yummy one!

Good morning - we enjoyed the Christmas parade last night - Cindy and I think it was the first time we've been in a parade and not in a band.
Tons of meetings today and off to Somerset this afternoon. Lots of good things going on.

December!

Well, back to work - can you believe we are already in December? In just a couple of weeks we're heading out to Texas for almost two weeks to visit family and friends - we're putting our request in now for some warm weather.
A good but busy week ahead - Our church has a float in the Cookeville Christmas parade tonight - tomorrow Somerset, KY- Friday a huge bid due and then off to Nashville and back Saturday. So hang on, we're off and running!

Everyone is home again

Greetings - did you have a wonderful Thanksgiving? My folks are still in Florida, but Reed's family made it back home from Oregon and Rachel's family made it back home from here. Even Cindy's brother and sister-in-law made it back from St. Louis.
We enjoyed kith and kin - those kids are growing like weeds and we enjoyed them. Yesterday we put up stuff and cleaned and crashed - family takes a lot out of these old geezers! Have a great Sunday!!

Thanksgiving 2012

Greetings - this is my last post this week - we've got company coming and I think Kaireia will take over my office this week. I pray you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving - we all have so much to be thankful for! Did you know that if you make over $20,000 you are in the top 5% of the world in regards to income - we are rich! And we have been poured out with God's grace abundantly - we are rich indeed!

If it weren't for church I'd rethink going out this morning. It's downright cold this morning and a high just in the 30's. Probably 80% of the trees have lost their leaves and it looks like yucky Winter. Waaaa - I want my Texas!

Thanksgiving around the corner

Good morning from Cookeville-  39 degrees out - higher than tomorrow's projected high temperature - brrrr!

I came back through several super foggy spots yesterday from Georgia - a long trip back ...

Greetings - off to Georgia later this morning to pick carpet and back again. A 2 hr 20 min trip each way - so probably driving most of my day   :-)

Rachel's gang is rolling in next week - excited for that - Cindy has been getting ready - shopping, cooking and cleaning - the big three.

I'm back

Greetings - I had a great trip yesterday to Bowling Green and back - left at 6 am and got back around 6:20 pm - a long but great day.

Just want to get everything wrapped up this week for Thanksgiving next week - the only problem, we have a HUGE bid due the 26th - oh well ...

I need to pull an iron or two out of the fire - but hey, it's better than not having any work!

Wow - a long hard week - thank you Lord for being gracious and getting us to Friday! This has been a week full of bids, client meetings, phone conferences and just plain old busy-work. It's time to charge up this old battery and start over.

Another week lays before us - sorry I didn't post yesterday - just got tied up - why are Sundays always so busy?
We've a cold front coming through Tuesday - high Wednesday and Thursday in the 40's - brrrr! A slight chance of snow as well.

No more casual Fridays

Good morning - well, it's official, no more casual Fridays at our office. We've got a few folks who decided about 4 years ago to start wearing jeans on Friday and now probably 80% or more do on Friday and about half do so the rest of the week. No more - management took over and casual is out - if you saw how it has degraded you'd agree. For myself, I've never worn jeans or casual to work so no problem. I think it's a matter of respect.
I was going to bring church dress into it but that would open a real can of worms. All I know is, I'm glad God knows my heart!

Good morning - another fine day here in the Upper Cumberlands. We had some rain last night so it's cooled down a bit with high's in the mid 50's today but our rain should be gone for now.
Meetings and paperwork as usual today - kind of a deja vu day.
So you having a good week? Our church is already making plans for Thanksgiving and even Christmas events - wow - I bet the rest of this year is gonna fly by - hang on tight!

Good morning mateys - today is my easiest day this week - I'm already sorry I said that. No client meetings and no deadlines today - tomorrow and Friday - that all changes ...

Earlier this week they said about 70 today - now the high is projected closer to 67 or 68 with lots of rain tonight. I'm coming back as a weather man ...

November ..

November ... just saying it is kind of like telling folks I'm 59 ... how in the world did we get here already! This year has just flown by.

This picture was taken yesterday and Rach sent it to us ... at least a couple of folks don't mind Mondays!

Well, another busy week - do you feel like you could get more done if clients didn't keep wanting to meet? If those pesky clients could stay away I'd be all caught up!

Did you remember the time change on Sunday?

Good morning,
This time change was the 'good' way - yet it still hasn't felt right yet. I'm getting too old to switch my sleeping patterns - maybe I'll take a nap after lunch - just lay down behind my desk, no one will notice.

The temperature is in the low to mid 60's all week, except Wednesday when we're to hit 70 degrees - we're hitting freezing about every night now - the plants and trees are sure showing it.

Good morning - a bit foggy out there, but otherwise downright cold! Only 30 degrees to start this morning - a lot of wind and rain yesterday and a lot more leaves coming down.
Cindy made it home safe and sound - pray for Audrey as she has a couple of weeks and the stint comes back out.

Leaves are falling ...

We've lost a lot of leaves this past week - looking more like winter than fall ... just hope warm weather isn't completely gone yet.
Cindy is headed home - a pretty day to drive. I'm getting some paperwork out of the way - have a great weekend!

FFFFFFriday ...

Salutations ... an overcast Friday - our storm radio went off all night with tornado watches - I'm still here so evidently nothing happened except a lack of sleep ...

A super windy and rainy day yesterday - not a good day to drive to a pre-construction meeting over 2 hours away and back again - it sure helped me sleep hard though (except during tornado watch warnings).

Mostly paperwork today - Cindy is still in Ohio and probably back tomorrow - pray Audrey heals well.

No other news - just another great, long, tiring, exciting, mundane, weary week.

Well - last night I learned I won't ever teach kids again - wow, they never stopped talking!!

Off today to Ft. Campbell and multiple stops each way to and from - can you say 'Road Trip'!

Whew - slept in a bit and starting to feel normal again - must have been a harder week than I thought!

A few errands today, mow the lawn (last time?) and some paperwork to catch up at work and for SS class tomorrow.

Freezin' Friday

It was hard crawling out of bed this morning - these dark mornings are hard! Plus we were down in the 20's last night - where did that come from? Hey, it's fall yet!

Paperwork, paperwork, paperwork today .... life is good. Lunch is the annual "Cooking on the Square" event for Habitat. Yes, it will be cold, yes it is for a good cause, it is it lots of gumbo, yes I'll be freezing.

Well, that's it for now - get up and get going!
