Pink Dress

I bet you don't dress for breakfast like this! Kaireia was too busy eating to put her dough nut down and smile - kind of like my sisters (did I say that?).

Smell the flowers

Good morning, the week is half over - I pray yours has gone well.

Here are the grandkids in their back yard playing and smelling flowers, or probably pretty weeds.

Happy Birthday Dad!

Happy Birthday Dad - hope your trip to Italy was fantastic and you left me some inheritance money!

Here is Kairiea playing in the back yard. Remember those care free days? Nope, me neither.

Pretend

I'm not sure if this is pretend or not, but I don't remember ever eating fish crackers on a spoon.

He's probably sick from all of the sugar he consumed from breakfast (see yesterday's post).

Monday, August 13, 2007

It's Monday.

A new week, a new day - breakfast is the key to every day. Neidon knows that and is starting off the day with a hearty breakfast. But he hasn't learned the 2nd key of nutrition, which is having a little less sugar. Oh well, one step at a time.

The remote is mine!

Neidon's learned the man is in charge of the remote; as it should be. That's why he's smiling. He doesn't realize that doesn't mean he's in charge of the TV!

That's why Kaireia's smiling.

Just got this recent photo of the grandkids.

Remember ...

A fine day appears to be shaping up for San Antonio. The sun was up early and nice blue skies can be seen out my window.

Here is a quote honoring 'remembering' and my anniversary - kind of a 2 fer ...
Women always worry about the things that men forget; men always worry about the things women remember”

P.S. I took this photo about 3 years ago.

1974

Wow - August 10, 1974. The Rat Pack had nothing on us!

This big event put aside the news of Nixon's resignation from the day before. In comparison, this was even bigger then Tony Parker's wedding.

Who is that young couple standing with us?

August 2005

This was taken two years ago this month, before Neidon was born. Back when Kaireia had time to smell the flowers.

Big Sister

Kaireia is going to be a big help with the new baby, just like she was with Neidon!

Whoops - wrong photo.

Throwing rocks

Boys love to throw rocks and Neidon is no different.

Have a great week.

Kaireia Joy

Kaireia has a sister due in a few short weeks. Grandma Adams is packed and ready to roll - well, almost!

Her mission, if she decides to accept, will be to spoil babies and then hand them back to the parents.

Why Lord?

We are grieving for our friends, the Travis', who just lost their grandchild; we grieve for the Lackey's and their loss; and we still grieve for our children. We mourn for our losses, for our future dreams that were changed and for loved ones who will ache forever.

Don't mean this as a depressing post - just pray for these families.

A voice is heard in Ramah,
weeping and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children
and refusing to be comforted,
because they are no more." Matthew 2:18

Sorrow

We had some great friends who lost their only grandchild yesterday. Pray for the Travis family and their children who are grieving.

My rabbit friend

I love this picture of Kaireia holding a small bunny. The natural lighting is great and her skin looks so nice against all of the white. What a special granddaughter! What a gift from God.

Week is not over yet!

Get up and get going, the week isn't over yet!

New bed

Yes, there is somebody on the top bunk!

Kaireia just got a new bed and her daddy took this picture yesterday with his phone and emailed it to us to enjoy.

See her big smile!

A new week

As we start a new week, here is a photo looking back to a couple of my favorite colorers.

Let's just watch so we don't break their concentration.

Quote of the week

“You know, somebody actually complimented me on my driving today. They left a little note on the windscreen, it said ‘Parking Fine.’”

Mission in San Antonio

A look back to February when we visited the Missions with the kids. It was a beautiful day.

Hey Dude

Hey dude - heard you had a BIG birthday this week. So get rid of that silly grin and get back to your yard work!

One more time

Cindy will be doing this again real soon. She looks pretty comfortable with this - don't you think?

Having fun

Of course, I might enjoy the rain more if someone wanted to play in the rain with me.

Rain and more rain

It rained all yesterday afternoon and we're getting more now! Our yard is water logged!!

What's a cubit?

Tuesday morning

Well gang - it's another day and it sure looks like rain again. It thundered off in the distance a lot last night and yesterday afternoon we had more rain as well. We're pretty water logged right now.

Here is Kaireia from a few years ago. Our little sweetheart and clothes artist.

Almost there

Who is this girl and why is she smiling?

She has less than 30 days until she is holding another baby in her arms - you should see the smile on HER mother's face - now that is happy!

Strategery

Some high level talking and planning was going on here - you don't even want to know.

Have a great Sunday!

7.10.04 Deja Vu

This photo was about 3 years ago, but we look even worse now. Rain, rain and ... more rain. Over 7" month to date in San Antonio. We're ready for that sunshine we used to be so famous for before global cooling, I mean warming. Hmmm ... we're 5 to 10 degrees below normal for over two months - go figure.

Days crawl, years fly

(Tevye)
Is this the little girl I carried?
Is this the little boy at play?
(Golde)
I don't remember growing older
When did they?
(Tevye)
When did she get to be a beauty?
When did he get to be so tall?
(Golde)
Wasn't it yesterday
When they were small?

High riders

Reed and Audrey got to see Maui in a number of ways. But when they said they took a chopper ride I had something else in mind.

Everything was beautiful

Even the bathrooms in Oregon were beautiful!

I pray your week is going great. Still more rain in San Antonio - we look greener than this photo.

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Toot toot!

I could easily play train with a young man right now. That would be a lot of fun!

Play good together

I know a contractor who tells his subcontractors to play good together and just get their work done. That's my advice to you this week - "Play good together" and have a great week.

Sunday, July 15, 2007

So Happy Together

When I see these two this happy, I just know they're up to something!

Have a great Sunday. The new week is off and running!!

The truth comes out

Well, I must confess that there was a real reason behind Reed and Audrey not wanting a cake. It will come out at the congressional hearing, but in the meantime, let this photograph give you a clue into my real meaning.

San Antonio spotting

These strange looking fellows were recently spotted at one of the missions in San Antonio. If you have information leading to their known identities or current where abouts, keep it to yourself!

Kaireia at museum

Sometimes I feel like I have so many little tasks going on that I'm just spinning my wheels trying to get to the big projects. It's hard to stay focused.

Oregon stream

A photo of an Oregon stream to enjoy. This was at a falls just east of Portland.

Good looking

Neidon looked good at the wedding - but check out these grandmas too! Those Adams' dress up nice.

Monday, July 09, 2007

It's Monday

Well, my Mondays are not as bad as this, but this morning it did take some doing to get going. We went down to the Wampler's ranch yesterday and didn't get home until around midnight - yawn.
It's good to be back to work to rest up!

Fireworks

Everybody like good fireworks. I hope your 4th of July and the week surrounding was terrific.

Have a blessed Sunday and new week.

Too wet for a walk here

I see a few walkers out my window, but it is still sprinkling some after a really hard rain earlier this morning. My plants aren't liking this - they're south Texas plants and prefer it hot and dry!

Here is Kaireia walking with her dad down an Oregon forest path.

Friday, July 06, 2007

It's Friday

It's Friday - your last chance to get that paperwork done. So snap to it!

Boots Randolph

Boots Randolph died yesterday. As a saxophone player myself (many moons ago) this was always someone that I admired and aspired to be - and then I realized I wasn't really that good - oh well.

Boots Randolph - 80 years old.

Looking back to 03/07/04

That Kaireia has always been a great dresser. She's about to have a sister to whom she'll have to teach these basic principles. We're only about 7 weeks away to baby nirvana.

Face Painting or bad make-up?

Rain, rain, rain! We've had rain here daily for weeks. I guess it's making up for all the dry years we've had in South Texas.

Here is my beautiful grand daughter. This was take in the Portland Children's Museum.

Happy newlyweds

Audrey and Reed look great here - a wonderful photo.

You all have a great week and a great 4th of July.
