Final 2008 post

We're leaving to Ohio today through the weekend. so this is my last post of 2008. I hope you've enjoyed watching these kids grow up - maybe they've grown a little too quickly!?

Kaireia had her hair cut, isn't it cute? We're so excited to be seeing her in person!

Happy New Year if we don't talk before then - I love you all!

I'm freezing

Neidon likes the cold about as much as I do - which is not much!

The 'Stop Global Warming' sign photo is from Ken Harvey - thanks Ken! A great photo. (Ken is Reed's father-in-law)

The Jones Gang

Steve repaired Janice's violin for Christmas. He's a real glutton for punishment. As if marrying my sister wasn't enough!

A warm Saturday

Sorry - I was not able to post this morning but my blog is talking to me know.

Hope you are having a great day! It's warm here in Cookeville and wanting to break an old record for high temperature - we'll see.

Here's my sister Sandy and her gang.

Winter is here?

A break from family photos for one of my babies.

This was taken several weeks ago - the same time as when we had our snow too. Kardia looks like she is having a lot of fun. How does she even move?

The Spurs beat Phoenix in a game with an incredible ending shot yesterday - we were shouting so loud our neighbors had to call the cops as we broke the local noise ordinance.

My folks and all of the grandchildren. Talk about a dysfunctional mess!

Merry Christmas - I love you all!!

Great-grandparents and great-grandkids having fun.

It's Christmas eve - have a great day! 4 hours of work and I'm free for the rest of the week - hip hip hooray.

Christmas count down

Here's a good looking family.

Two days until Christmas - I pray your week is going well - Remember ... Romans 8:28 "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose."

Christmas week!

The Kleemans should be with Rachel and Darin by now - I pray they made it safely and have a wonderful week with 'our' grand-kids. Also, Reed and Audrey fly to Oregon this week for more family time. Have a wonderful week and stay safe and warm!
By the way, it is officially winter and it did get colder!! It's around 8 degrees out right now.

Casual Friday

I'm not even sure what Neidon is doing here? Kids have a great imagination, so I can only guess.

Honest Injun

A mild day today - supposed to push 60 degrees and hopefully some sun shine. Here is one of my little Indians. You know they always made their own clothes - paper or plastic?

Opryland tree

This tree is so huge, it's hard to get in a photo. The photo with Cindy standing in front of it is from the upper 'Lobby' area of the convention center. If you look close in the photo where you can see the entire tree, you'll see people way down at the bottom. This tree could be 60' tall or more. The ornaments are large packages a foot or two across.

More Nashville Opryland Hotel

More of Opryland Hotel in Nashville for you to enjoy - especially since we have freezing rain this morning.

As always, click on photos to see larger.

River walk???

Actually this is the Opryland Hotel and Convention center. We drove over yesterday after church and wandered around for awhile. It was decorated as nice as we remembered it from about 9 years ago or so.

One little indian

Headbands are not as easy to keep on as you think. Those Indians had a rough life.

Saturday - errand day

An exhausting week - nothing major to do today, just several errands and a bluegrass concert tonight to support the local pro-life group.

I need a grand-daughter to join me in a sugar high.

Snow day

Schools closed again today - we got 1.5" of snow last night after a hard rain all day long. Our drive is solid ice and the street isn't much better. It'll be an interesting drive into work, no one has gone out yet by us - we'll see. About 20 degrees out - double brrrr.

Pilgrims

You can tell the Pilgrims and the Indians by their headwear. They appear to coexist in harmony.

Another rainy day with slight chance of snow tonight - thanks to Texas for leaving the door open!

Ring the bell

In my company, when a salesman makes a big sell or a contract is signed, they ring a large bell we have down in the training room. It looks like Neidon just made a sell! Way to go!!

Rainy Tuesday

Good morning this fine day. I hope your week is off to a great start. Here is a picture to put a smile on your face.

I especially like the chocolate stain around the mouth - and I'd still let her kiss me!

Get ready for work

It's time to pick up your toys from the weekend and get ready for work. I hope you got some work done and had a lot of fun too this weekend.

Kaireia's Kamera

This photo made me think of the one I posted on November 29th, last Saturday. Too many photographers in this family! You gotta watch your step.

It's Sunday - enjoy church!

Help me grandma!

Here is grandma helping Kardia with her shoes - she doesn't seem to mind!

Temperature in the low 20's last night, so you San Antonio folks stop your whining!

We're attending an 8 am office Christmas party in a little bit - they start early in Tennessee!

Friday in Tennessee

Greetings - I pray you had a great week.

Here is Kardia on my lap during Thanksgiving week.

Where's Waldo??

Neidon loves puzzles - he's a sweet boy.

Have a great Thursday - wow, where has this week gone?

Yesterday was sunny and mid 50's - a beautiful day. Today cold, rainy and low 40's. This global warming is about to freeze me to death.

The baby blues

We're missing our babies! Now we just whine at each other!!

It's to be in the 50's today - a beautiful day. No snow forecast until later next week. Hey - I can do this!

Tuesday, December 02, 2008

Another snow day for local schools

Cold last night but up to 40 today - or so they say. Reports of more snow last night, but still too warm to stick. Warnings of black ice and slippery roads. More snow projected Thursday - double brrr.

We miss our couch kids - Cindy won't put the pillows around me - go figure!

Do you see Neidon peeking out on the left end?

Snow day!

Local schools in this county have been canceled due to snow - hmmm. It looks wet out our window and the temperatures are freezing, but I don't see any snow yet. Chance of snow all day is over 70% - brrrr.

Have a great day and enjoy this photo from the Cookeville Train depot.

Ready or not ...

Ready or not, it's back to the real world of work and toil and no grandbabies again.

I pray your Thanksgiving was wonderful - our kids are all home safe again in Ohio and our family is home safe across Tennessee and Texas once more.

Saturday, November 29, 2008

The party is over

Everyone is gone or about to leave - only the memories, and a few hundred digital photos, remain.

I pray you had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday!

The gang is all here

Reed and Audrey arrived safely late last night. Everyone is here and mama is happy!

Kardia likes grandma's jacket - although it fits her a bit loose in the shoulders.

Gingerbread house

We're having a terrible time with the grandkids.

The key is to get them into a sugar high, then send them home!

I'm on vacation the rest of the week - hooray!!

The kids are here (well, most of them)

The game was fun even though the Titans lost. The place was sold out and it gets NOISY in that arena! I must admit the Jets looked great and the Titans played horrible.

The kids got in late last night and my folks and Janice and Mark stopped by earlier in the evening. Lots of family in Tennessee right now!
