Emergency Ballerina trip

Kardia
Cindy got a call yesterday to make an 'emergency' trip up to Ohio to help out with the Kleeman kids as this is a Ballerina show weekend. I think it took her minutes to pack and she heads out this morning - Super Grandma on the way!

I didn't even recognize Kardia in this photo for a moment. Looks like she is ready to dance up a storm!

Love those Spurs

Neidon
Good morning - stayed up a bit too late watching the Spurs BEAT Oklahoma - woohoo! What a game - those guys played great!

No news - I picked up a new prospect yesterday and lots of paperwork today - can hardly keep up so much going on.

Cooler weather and fog this morning - standard fare for our area. Should be a nice day.

I'm off to work in a few minutes - have a great day!

It's a Monday on a Tuesday

Greetings - we had a nice visit to Murfreesboro - last time we got rained out and had to replace a vehicle battery - much more pleasant this time.

This is the cemetery at the Stones River Battleground site. They have hundreds of flags up at each site for Memorial Day.

They had a Memorial Day Ceremony at the other end of the Cemetery and they shot some old long guns which were loud and smoky.

Thanks again to all of our veterans and service men and women.

Off to Murfreesboro

Some pictures will come up in the future when you grow old and you'll look back and wonder why. This could be one of those.

Off to Murfreesboro today and back tomorrow - a Civil war trip and maybe a few other things to check out.

I've got the Indy 500 on the recorder to watch later this week and don't forget the Spurs are on tonight. Have a great day!

A long, long weekend

Good morning - breakfast, a few errands and a nice lazy Saturday.

We're debating on whether to go someplace Sunday after church and come back Monday - depends what we find. No plans, no problem.

Have a great day!!

A Fine Friday

Neidon

Wow - here we go, it's already Friday. Paperwork this morning and Livingston and Sparta this afternoon. This week has just flown by.

Our company always tries to keep a pipeline of work that is ahead of us to keep our workers busy. Three weeks ago we had the lowest amount of work in hand ever since the company started and right now we have the highest amount that they have ever had. This business is typically feast or famine and proof comes up once more.

Matthew 6:25-34 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Sand sand everywhere

Good morning - a paperwork morning and off to Lake Tansi this afternoon - continuing on a large remodel south of Crossville. A long weekend ahead - looking forward to that.
Mowed the lawn at lunch yesterday - thought it might rain yesterday afternoon - always good to get that done.
Not sure why word wrap isn't working. It will only let me add text at the bottom today - maybe it hasn't had its coffee yet either.

Foggy morning

Lincoln and Anna
Good morning - yesterday I had a quick trip to Cleveland, Tennessee for a pre-construction (pre-bid) meeting on two large projects for Wacker Polysilicon. They have 300 acres and are building a $1.5 Billion plant here in Tennessee. Best of all - no government funding!
A busy paperwork day today - two bids due and I need to start on the Wacker bid packages.
    Enjoy these crazy rockers!

What Monday!!

Noema
Monday - I was shocked too! Where did that weekend go?

A great week ahead - super busy and lots of new stuff - woohoo!

Tomorrow I have to leave extra early to see a job-site several hours away and may not have time to post. Think kindly of this old man if you don't see anything new.

Love you all - enjoy!

Even got a diploma - it's official!

A nice relaxing weekend - a few errands but just reading, relaxing and resting - the three R's of weekends.

Well, you can see Reed did get a diploma so it must be official - he didn't hear about his last paper until we got there so we were all sweating bullets. Hey, he could have been pulled out of line like that incident back in 1972, but ...that's another story.

Anyway, there you have it - he's all learned up.

Enjoy church - hope you have a great day. Enjoying the Hillbenders on Bluegrass radio while writing this - God is good!

The parents are proud

A good Saturday morning to you. Wow - last week went from slow to crazy. I ended up the week with 5 major jobs that have to go out this next week in some form. I love it!

No big news today - thought I'd show off a few more graduation photos - we had lots of fun!

Behind the scenes

A good Friday morning to you all. Here are all of us getting ready for a graduation. Even though Reed's graduation outfit was cool, Lincoln really pulled off a fashion hit with his outfit. At his age, there is a fine line between shorts, capris and long pants.
Quick snack before graduation

Well, a great day ahead - meeting this morning with some business people and a site visit this afternoon south of Sparta to a custom home we have started.

Thursday - sliding toward home

Noema, Kaireia and Lincoln
Good morning - another day lies ahead of us.

I think I've got a few hours behind the old electronic 'drafting table' this morning. I would say Computer Assisted Drafting (CAD) was probably the biggest change in my profession over the past 30 years. We hired a new guy yesterday who had never hand drawn and had not even met anyone who had grown up with that skill. A sad skill to lose.

Gotta go - a new day beckons. Maybe today ...

Wacky and wonderful Wednesday - wow!

As you can imagine, with two sets of grandparents the grand-kids were really spoiled. I was the only rational one of the bunch and really tried to straighten them out.

We mowed the lawn last night and are trying to get back into things after being gone. I think Cindy has caught up with laundry and my paperwork pile is dwindling. Wow - what if we had been out of town more than 4 days!

Gotta go - love you all!

One day down, four to go

Anna
Good morning - wow, I crashed last night - those quick out of town weekends are killers - but fun! Another day and I'll be 100% again.

Rockwood yesterday and Crossville today - still getting client calls, just need a big project to sign up now.

Gotta go - hang in there - love you all.

Graduation

Proof of the graduation - Reed with family and friends!!

We're back!!

Neidon
Good morning - we're back in Cookeville after a great visit and a great graduation. We had fun seeing old friends and family and watching Reed get his Master's degree. The time went by way to quickly.

As always, it is still good to be home and sleep in our own bed again and get back into our routine. I can hear the paperwork calling my name - here I go!

On the road again

Kaireia
We're getting ready to walk out the door to Nashville - visit with a new prospective client and then on so Illinois. They like it when you pronounce the 's' in IllinoiS - it shows them you care!

I'll try to get a shot of the graduating boy - take care of the fort while we're gone - love you all!

Ready for vacation

Noema
Good morning - this is my last full day in the office this week. We take off tomorrow morning & stop in Nashville to meet a client on the way to Illinois for Reed's graduation.
I'm ready to spoil some babies! Mowed the lawn last night when I got home & it appears we got a spot of rain sometime overnight. Maybe the lawn will last until next Monday or Tuesday evening. Have a great day!

Go Spurs!

Lincoln
Well, our Spurs beat the Jazz in series one last night and move on to the next round. Everyone we know was excited and all smiles. It's good to see they are raising the grand-kids right as well!

A bit of rain last night and more projected today - I believe a few of you got some as well - bring it on.

It's ... yawn ... Monday

Kardia and Noema
Good morning, he says sipping coffee and yawning. A new work week has begun ...

A short work week - off Friday to head to Illinois for Reed's graduation for his Master's degree. Hey, my kids are smarter than me!

Have a wonderful week - I'm going to see grand-kids soon!

Go Spurs - win #3 last night

Anna
Spurs won their third playoff game against the Jazz. Anna looks excited!

Off to church in a few minutes - always great to see friends and worship. Have a great day - I love you all.

A few photos from Cindy's India trip last year - enjoy! No news - love you all.

Rainy Friday ahead

Kaireia
Good morning - we got a bit of rain yesterday and more projected today - very much needed.

Off to Crossville today to start the first phase of a large remodel - step 1 - get the contract signed ... step 2, start measuring ...

No news - a fairly easy day ahead - stay safe, I love you all.

Thankful for Thursday

Noema and Neidon
Another fine day ahead. It is getting warm - the office I write this blog in is located in our upstairs 'bonus' room. The heat rises and it gets warm quickly. We have a small window unit we insert every spring up here as the central unit doesn't cool it up here as good as it should. So, the window unit is not in yet and it is TIME!

We're ready for a night at home with no meeting - and this may be it! Have a great day and remember 'God is in Control'.

Another middle child

Lincoln
Lincoln will be a middle child before this year is over too. Maybe some of those attributes I mentioned yesterday apply to him? It's always fun to watch the kids grow up and develop their personalities.

Well, off to work in a minute - the usual calls and paperwork. The folks I talked to last week south of Crossville are ready to sign a contract to proceed - that sounds great. God is good.

Have a great day - hope one of us gets rain soon ...

Middle child

Kardia
I go to thinking (scary, huh?) and realized Kardia was about to become the middle child of 5. Does she have middle child attributes?

Here are some attributes - Because the middle child feels that the world pays him less attention, he tends to be secretive; he does not openly share his thoughts or feelings. Middle children may not feel they have a special place in the family so friends and peer groups become much more important. They can usually read people well, they are peacemakers who see all sides of a situation, they are independent and inventive. If a firstborn is a company's CEO, the middle child is the entrepreneur. (Hmmmm??)
