Flower Girl

Kaireia made a great flower girl. However the petals were too precious to throw.

After the wedding she'd throw them for fun and then go back and pick them up. Tidiness is a virtue!

Day 2- Pacific City

Neidon out on the patio - the best view from my patio window.

Haystack rock - about a mile out into the Pacific from the coastline. This was another view from our patio window.

Rebel without a malls

Neidon enjoyed the trip even though it was hard to get him to smile for the camera. Is there a word for fear of photography?

Photogphobia??

There is a rebel in every crowd - be sure to read the sign that is by Cindy's foot!

Pacific Ocean

Neidon playing on the hotel patio - checking out his new sweatshirt - it was cold!

First time at the Pacific Ocean - brrrrr!

Yaquina Head aerial view

This is a Google earth view of the lighthouse and surrounding land. Check it out on Google earth if interested. Sorry, I can't get this to link to Google Earth, but if you click on the photo, it will enlarge and you will see the latitude and longitude coordinates to fly to.

Newport, Oregon - Day 1 at coast

See the lighthouse in the distance? This was our motel room view - but this photo is zoomed. See night photo for actual distance to light house.
Our first coast night was in Newport, Oregon. We stayed in a room with a view to the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. This is the lighthouse up close - you can drive up to it and even climb the steps. More photos of that later.
If you look at the sunset photo, the lighthouse is to the right on the little jut of land that is sticking out into the water. Easier to pick out once you see the daytime photo.

Spoiling grandkids

I think we had more fun spoiling grandchildren than we did seeing sights!

It'll take weeks to recover - they have LOTS of energy!

Wedding Reception

Oregon had the most beautiful Rhododendron bushes. They were HUGE and in a variety of colors. I must admit Rachel and Kaireia hold their own in the beauty category though!

Cindy and Neidon are awaiting the new bride and groom. The bubble packages were tricky to open but they're almost there. Doesn't Neidon look great in his tux!

We're back

What a great trip! Oregon is beautiful but we're glad to be home again.

I'll be inserting photos from our trip the next week or so, so stay tuned.

Stayed tuned ...

Can you believe I forgot to post a photo today? I must have too much on my mind!!
We leave super early tomorrow for Oregon, a rehearsal Friday, a wedding Saturday and then spoil the grand-kids for a week!

I may post a few photos, but don't hold your breath! I may be having too much fun. Feel free to send us email as we're taking a laptop and will be checking email from time to time. See you soon!

We're flying!

Neidon is so anxious to leave he is waiting in the car! He forgot we're flying to Oregon.

Isn't he a good looking guy - especially with his hair all nicely trimmed.

Artist

Kaireia is our artist. Maybe she'll be an architect like her gramps.

We'll be drawing together soon. Maybe she'll teach me how to stay in the lines.

Have a great week! Reed is getting married Saturday!!

Pretty in Pink

Life is good.

Quote from Alan Keyes

"I listen to people on the pro-abortion side telling me that this is a mother’s choice, that the mother gets to decide whether the child is human or not, whether the child is living or not, whether the child has rights or not in the womb. And then I go back to that great Declaration, and what do I find? I find that the Declaration makes it real clear: we are not human by our mother’s choice. We do not have rights by our mother’s will. That Declaration says that we are human by God’s creation, and we have rights by His determination, not by ours!"
- Alan Keyes - 7/9/96, Michigan Prayer Service

First 'official' haircut - taken 5/11/07

Our little boy is growing up. His first official/paid haircut. I wish barber shops were like this when I was a kid! Put a steering wheel in my hand and look out.

That's Kairiea in the background - the pink car of course. There must be videos going, they seem to be in trances.

It's Friday

I hope your week was great.

Alan Keyes was incredible last night. What a great speaker. 30+ minutes, no notes, no repeating, fantastic logic and extremely persuasive. You should have been there!

Quote

This was so good, I decided to stick in an extra quote this week:

Dave Barry says, “A perfect parent is a person with excellent child-rearing theories and no actual children.

August 2004

Kaireia is tickled pink to see her family in a few short days.

She has sure grown since this photo.

Tonight we're going to a pro-life banquet with my folks and the main speaker will be Alan Keyes. Be sure to ask me about it later.

My gals ...

Flashback ... 2 years ago.

My gals walking 'down the street where I live'. Reminds me of a song!

Have a blessed day. 10 days to a wedding.

Packing woes

Rachel can pack whatever she wants, but she better not forget those babies!

Next week - Oregon bound!

Neidon - first days

9/9/05

Neidon with his family at 2 days old.

Prepare for a week of golden oldies!

Saturday, May 05, 2007

It's Saturday!

It's Saturday! It's hard to get up and even get dressed on your day off. Wouldn't you love to just stay in your PJ's and not even comb your hair!

Walter Schirra

Walter M. Schirra Jr., Astronaut, Dies at 84
If you've got a few grey hairs like me, you probably remember the words Mercury, Apollo and Gemini with fondness and a sense of pride. Schirra was the only astronaut to fly in all three of these missions.
He passed away early this morning.

Kaireia with friend

It's Friday - I pray you has a wonderful week.

This is an oldie - Kaireia with friends. One in the background and one in her arms don't get them confused.

A long week

Wow - a long exhausting week, but we're almost there so hang on - tomorrow is Friday!

Here's Cindy and Neidon getting to know each other. She's ready to get her hands on him again - just a few short weeks.

My little girls

Can you spot the three girls in this photo?

They're there - trust me!

Have a wonderful week and count your blessings.

It's May!

Somebody I know is getting married in May.

Hey! It's already May! 19 days and counting.

Oregon or bust.
