Below freezing.

Well, we got below freezing this morning. For my money, we just went from Fall to Winter - the folks around here are barely wearing coats yet.

Fall Festival at church tonight - Cindy has a Tawana chili recipe - we're taking home the prize this year for best chili! They won't know what hit them.

Love you all - have a blessed day!

Baby it's super cold outside

A chilly morning from the Upper Cumberlands of Tennessee. Some of the higher areas might have seen some snow last night or tonight - we'll see. None here, just down right cold.

A paperwork and CAD day - lots of stuff to draw and write up. At least I'll be warm. Have a great day ... maybe today.

Chilly morning

It's starting off in the low 30's this morning. I'm not sure if we hit freezing, but very close.

Meetings all morning, I meet with a new prospect for lunch and a paperwork afternoon. This day will fly by.

A cooler week - highs around 50 and lows close to freezing - stay warm and safe wherever you live.

Getting ready ...

Aunt Audrey is spoiling Rhiza. She is actually holding two babies in this photo - we'll meet Asher soon.
A chilly day yesterday - maybe high 40's at best - tonight freezing and a week in the high 40's low 50's coming up - bring out the long johns.

Chilly Saturday

A cold day today - maybe 50 for the highest and a cold wind. When does summer return?

Breakfast out and several errands this morning. I'm about to review my SS lesson and then a few misc. to--dos and meeting friends at 6 pm tonight.

Nothing special - in other words, a nice relaxing day.

It's Friday

Everyone likes Friday! A long but good week - I pray yours went well. Almost time to chill out.

Another fine day in Tennessee

One year ago
Good morning! Another great day - hope your goes as well.

Mostly paperwork today - this week has flown by!

We tend to use prayer as a last resort, but God wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there's nothing else we can do, but God wants us to pray before we do anything at all.
Most of us would prefer, however, to spend our time doing something that will get immediate results. We don't want to wait for God to resolve matters in His good time because His idea of 'good time' is seldom in sync with ours

Half-way thru this old week

Rhiza and Grandma Adams
Low 50's this morning and up into the 70's again today. Might have hit 80 yesterday - but still a nice cool breeze.

Rockwood and Crossville this morning and paperwork this afternoon. A good day ahead.

No big news - just living the dream! Love you all.

Yard is mowed again

I hurried home & we mowed the lawn last night. The time change is coming soon so it will limit us to mowing on weekends. Hopefully it'll be cold enough by then that the grass will slow down or stop growing for the winter. Nothing big happening here - sleep & work - a vicious cycle. Love you all - have a good day.

I'm in love again

How could we love so many kids and not run out of love? Each one just helps you to love more ... and more. Pretty amazing isn't it! Maybe that explains how God can love all of us to much. And why He seeks out the one that is lost.

A week with lots of meetings and lots of to-dos. God, go before me and get everything ready for me. And watch over the steps of my kids and family. Thank you!

I'm back from Safari

Kaireia
Safari means trip in Swahili - I'm back and it was a great one. Learned lots of stuff and spiritually pumped up - at least for a day or two ... that's the trick, huh?
Here is my little 9 year old - thought of her brother and her folks as well yesterday. I love all of my family - those here and those awaiting us.
Gotta go - church soon - love you!

Out of town

Greetings - I'm on the road by the time you read this. I leave at 6:30am to Louisville for a two day Christian leader's retreat at Southeast Christian Church. I'm going with 5 other men from church and looking forward to the classes and workshops.

Cindy is in Arkansas with Leslie for a few days and we both return this weekend - sorry no photos for a few days.

Quiet on the home front - it's been quiet at work with no bids for awhile - a pleasant change. Just working on contacting clients and drumming up future work. Paperwork never sleeps.

My truck and some deer got acquainted earlier this week - hope to get it into the body shop and repaired soon. I've never hit a deer and got two at once - my truck looks fine at first glance, but look closely and suddenly lots of dollars of work appear - oh well, no one (except the deer) were hurt. And even they didn't stick around to say 'sorry'.

Say prayers for Rachel and Darin if you would - we're coming up to 9 years of losing Kairou. Can't see a balloon drifting in the sky without remembering. Won't heaven be grand!

Well, gotta go - have a wonderful weekend - I love you all.

Some of my babies

Good morning - a strong front came through last night with a LOT of wind and a LOT of rain. Yesterday we hit mid 70's; the rest of the week low to mid 60's - fall weather again.

Cindy is surrounded by babies - she's in hog heaven. Grand-kids are great.

Have a great day - love you all!

Like her gramps

Rhiza
Rhiza looks like me, especially when she's sleeping on the couch.
Another nice day but a rain/cold front comes through later today to make it Fall again.
I had a trip to Murfreesboro yesterday - in office today & church tonight. Working leads at work & cleaning out my office. A quieter week.

Chilly Tuesday - low 30's

Salutations! Kaireia turned 9 yesterday - can you believe that? Where have the years gone. Seems like yesterday we handed blue and pink candy cigars out at church to celebrate Kaireia and Kairou being born - our first grandchildren.

A lot has happened since that date. God has blessed us in many ways - and even though His ways aren't always what we had in mind, He continues to walk with us. God is good.

Foggy in the Upper Cumberlands

Neidon and Rhiza
Good morning world! Foggy and 50 degrees here in middle Tennessee. Another fine week ahead - hey, early voting starts here and in parts of the country - remember to vote early and vote often.

Lots of cold and warm calls this week - catching up with old clients and pursuing new leads. No Wacker in hand to bid this week. In fact two men from other companies got killed there last week in a freak accident - pray for their families. Construction deaths still occur but fortunately rarer and rarer.

Have a blessed week.

Storm coming though

Anna and Lincoln
A fine morning but a cold front is supposed to push through later with a lot of rain.
Church in a few minutes - looking forward to a fine sermon and Sunday School.
Next time I'll see these two young-uns, they'll have a baby brother. I've got some sweet grand-kids.

Fantastic Fall Saturday

A beautiful day today -mid 70's out, low humidity and a cool breeze. The leaves are turning, you can hear geese occasionally heading south and even most of our hummingbirds have left. Thank you for fall God!

We've had breakfast out, ran some errands, mowed the lawn and I need to work on some lessons for church before we go to a funeral viewing for a friend's father.

I finally got my pictures uploaded - watch for some good ones this week.

Adams family visiting Rhiza

Good morning - a no-bid Friday - woohoo!! An on-line class at 10:30 am and lots of paperwork to catch up to end the week.

I'm ready for a weekend - I'll upload some photos for you and show off the grand-kids.

Have a great day - it appears like it could rain here - an overcast morning.

Almost freezing again

Another chilly morning - but I think we have some warmer weather ahead for at least a week.

Got away from work yesterday at 6pm after putting together a bid, we had Wed church and then home again. A good day.

Another huge bid today and then a clear calendar for the next week - woohoo! My desk needs clearing off and some catching up to do.

The yard needs mowing but these two hard frosts have slowed it down - the end is near. Where has this summer flown?

50 outside - a heat wave

Another fine fall morning - the leaves are turning and it's a beautiful time of year. A small bid due today, but I'm mainly working on Thursday's bid package this fine day.

Cindy has been catching up with laundry, check book, cleaning and other stuff I'm not particularly good at. It's great to have her home again.

It was great to crash last night - haven't uploaded baby photos yet - I'll get there, hold your horses.

Love you all - maybe today ...

Baby it's cold outside

Almost hit freezing last night - brrrr - it's cold! Fall just started and ti feels like winter already. Bring back that global warming.

A long day yesterday - put out three bids and wrapped up around 8:30 last night - next one due Wednesday and another Thursday. Friday will be welcome this week! We're winning over 36% of our bids at the company we bid with yesterday, so it is worth the effort.

Anna has really changed this past year. She is sure growing up. Our grand-kids are fun watching as they grow up.

I'm off - have a great day.

We're back home!

We made it back - a bit of rain on the way out of town and part of Ohio, but nice the rest of the way.

It is actually raining pretty good here this morning. Cindy came back too - we followed each other home and are glad to be our own family again.

Will post baby pictures soon.

I see my babies tonight!

Rhiza
Good morning! I get to see Rhiza and all of my babies tonight. I leave for Ohio right after work and drive up to Columbus.

This is Rhiza on her new quilt Great Grandma Marcia made for her. She looks pretty comfortable.

Have a blessed day!

Open eyes!

It's 50 degrees out and so foggy I can't see the end of the driveway. Supposed to warm up today with sunshine - we'll see.

Mostly paperwork today - church tonight and tomorrow is my last work day before heading up to Columbus. Gotta spoil my babies.

Starting off dreary

Good morning - we got about 2" of rain from Sunday evening through this morning. It's dark out but supposed to clear off this afternoon. I may mow after work as it will be my last chance this week.

We're continuing to bring in new projects at work and are still bidding on a TON of stuff - about worn out with all of that. I prefer churches, but that area of construction is still pretty slow right now.

Talked to Cindy yesterday and she is doing good but sounding tired - that's why you have kids when you are young! I'm looking forward to going up this weekend. Better go - work calls - work emails already coming in - we're off!

Monday, October 01, 2012

More rain ...

About 1" of rain last night. It still looks pretty dreary out - so hard to get up when it is dark outside.

Back to work - another exciting week ahead - or not. I bet having these kids around would keep it exciting!!
